We believe that Oklahoma City can be transformed by the Son of God, the Spirit of God, and the People of God. We are committed to encourage and challenge the Church to remember its mission to meet the needs of our community. Our role is to network and mobilize the Church to strategically partner together on behalf of the poor and forgotten among us.
I want to take this opportunity to connect you with a wonderful Kingdom leader, Stephan Moore.
“Stephan served as a counselor and on the leadership staff at Kanakuk Kamps before being hired by Joe White as a Director for Kids Across America, Urban Christian Sports Kamps as the founding staff member. K.A.A. currently serves over 7000 youth and 700 of their leaders. Stephan served as director of K.A.A. 3 (ages 15 to 18) and was Assistant Executive Director of K.A.A. for 18 years. Stephan now resides in Oklahoma City with his wife Scotia and their eight children. He currently serves as the Executive Director of Shiloh Ministries” (bio fromwww.StephanMoore.net).
Now let me tell you a little bit about Shiloh Summer Camp.
“Many young people in Oklahoma City need an opportunity to get away from the troubles and temptations of their lives. These “at risk” kids face daily pressures of school violence, gangs, crime, and fragmented homes. Many feel defeated before they ever get started in life. Unfortunately, many kids are unable to afford an escape like summer camp.
Shiloh targets camp to disadvantaged kids who live in Oklahoma City and the surrounding area. We provide a great opportunity for young people to experience the love of God and discover His purpose for their lives. Shiloh desires that each child know, without a doubt, that they are important, valued and loved.” (excerpt from www.TheShiloh.net).
Here are a handful of immediate and important ways you can get involved.
Just today, Stephan said, “I have a real high need for staff this summer.” They are actively seeking the following paid staff positions ($325 / week): two male counselors, two ropes course instructors (Shiloh will pay for training), one photographer/videographer, one mountain bike instructor, one fishing instructor. In addition to the above mentioned paid positions, they are also in need of up to 60 male and 60 female volunteers.
